Ruby One Time Web Server [ruby] [http]

"OneTimeWebServer holds a single "page" in memory, serves it to the first visitor, and evaporates. Useful for all sorts of hijinks." - interesting idea.

elmcity project FAQ « Jon Udell
http://blog.jonudell.net/elmcity-project-faq/
Cool project to create an aggregated community-updated calendar service. Uses Delicious to grab event feeds, sorts them together. Clever project from Jon Udell, who works for Microsoft but we'll try not to hold that against him. Elmcity is built using the new MS Azure cloud platform, but we'll try not to hold that against it.

HashPage
Prototype lifestreaming mashup site. Has a cool auto-build feature where it imports all your feeds from FriendFeed. Quite good, but I think I'd still rather build my own. Though they have some cool features like Github integration - fork their repo, hack your own themes, push them back in and they get auto-updated to be available to everyone.

Awesome hack using YQL and YUI to convert a chunk of tabular data (pulled straight from HTML) into an autocomplete search form. Must try this.

Another URL 'lengthening" service to expand shortened URLs for archival purposes or for clarity. Seems to support more services than LongURLsPlease, but also seems slower.
